Sacred Heart Families,
I hope this email finds everyone well. It appears the cold and flu season is already upon us. Just a reminder if your child is not feeling well and has a stomach bug or cold-like symptoms and/or a fever they should not come to school until they are symptom free for 24 hours without medication. We have had several cases of COVID already. I am working alongside our school nurses and putting together guidance that I will be sending next week. For many people it is just a nuisance like cold– for others they are quite sick so we want to be mindful of the vulnerable members of our school/parish community.
We had our first PSA meeting and I would like to thank everyone who was able to join us in person or on Zoom. A huge thank you to our volunteer officers who are joining our PSA President, Megan Yamin. We appreciate your ideas and the time commitment you are making on behalf of our students and families.

This upcoming week is going to be a busy one. If you have not yet purchased your dine-in or take-out Spaghetti Dinner tickets for this Friday, September 27th, please do so. The team will be going shopping for supplies this week. A flyer with all the details is posted on our Facebook page, school website and was sent home via backpack mail last week. Questions, please call the school office at 518-274-3655. Proceeds will benefit our Scholarship Fund. This is a ticket only event.
School pictures will also be this Friday, September 27th. Students may wear their uniform or an outfit of your choice. There will be no physical education classes that day. Children should still wear or bring sneakers. You do not need to pay in advance or pick a package. iSmiles has an on-line portal for ordering once pictures have been taken. You have the option of various poses and backgrounds.
NEW STAFF–UPK Families in the Green Room and Orange Room
We would like to welcome Ms. Kimberly Jada who will be teaching UPK 3 Green Room starting this Monday. Parents/students may have met her at the Meet and Greet back in August. She was here this past Friday to meet the families at morning drop off and afternoon pick-up. She also spent time with the students and working alongside our TA, Ms. Atkins, to decorate the classroom. A huge thank you to Mrs. Radley (our PE teacher) and Mrs. Ibbara ( our Spanish and Science teacher) for all they did to help the students learn and grow these past few weeks.
Starting this Wednesday, Ms. Reagan Rose will be working with Mrs. LaFountain and Ms. Kussler as Mrs. LaFountain gets ready to go on maternity leave sometime in October. She will be covering for Mrs. LaFountain until she returns this winter. More to come.
Children may continue to wear their summer uniform up until Columbus Day. On Tuesday, October 15th students should begin wearing their winter uniform. Dress uniforms should be worn the days that students do not have physical education class. Students should wear sneakers each day.
Please be mindful that we have children with nut allergies in our school.
